For
nearly 20 years the Borzoi Club of Central New Jersey has served the
area with activities and services in all phases of the sport of
purebred dogs. The Central New Jersey area, renowned as a center of
exceptional Borzoi breeding and exhibiting programs, is located in the
heart of the most densely populated region of the United States. In the
belief that the area was producing some of the finest Borzoi in
competition and that a pooling of knowledge and expertise would benefit
the breed, local breeders and exhibitors established the Borzoi Club of
Central New Jersey in August, 1986.
The mission of the club was to be among the best breeders and owners of
Borzoi possible by teaching and learning from each other in a
constructive manner. Once this was defined and adapted, many activities
quickly followed.
The Club membership typically includes breeders, exhibitors, dog
owners,
AKC-licensed Judges and others interested in the Borzoi breed.
The Borzoi Club of Central New Jersey supports and subscribes to the
principles and rules of the American Kennel Club. In the recruitment
and admission of members, and in the operation of all activities and
services, club policy prohibits behavior detrimental to the protection
and well being of purebred dogs. Changes and expansion notwithstanding,
the club continues to maintain its original commitment to the
continuation of the sport of purebred dogs.
